Statue of Liberty monument is one of the mega structures located in New York,USA, established as a joint effort of USA and France. It is one of the main travel spots in America.

A prominent French sculptor named Frederic Auguste Bartholdi made the statue of liberty. He used sheets of hammered copper to construct the statue and Gustave Eiffel, the architect of Eiffel tower, made the steel structure of the statue. It was given to the United States as a donation from the French people to commemorate the friendship of the two nations. 


In 1865, after the end of US Civil War, a French historian named Edouard Laboulaye wished-for the French government to build a statue and present it to America as a gift for the achievement of the people to encourage democracy In 1884, after the finishing the landmark it was presented to Ambassador named Mortion in a govt. event in Paris. 
The statue was erected on a little island situated in New York Bay, named Liberty Island. At present, the statue is standing tall as a symbol of freedom and democracy. It is considered as one of the world’s most well-known landmarks.

Attractions of Statue of Liberty

The landmarks history has been displayed in the base through presentation. The statue's heaviness is 4, 50,000 pounds and stands 151 feet tall. A question emerges in the brain that how this mammoth statue was hand over to USA. It was delivered from France to USA in 350 pieces and took around 4 months to assemble. The Liberty Island is stunning to see around evening time as it brings a special look with changed lights.

How to Go Statue of Liberty

It in a island near New York Harbor, named Liberty Island. So traveler has to come first New York city. From there can use sub, bus or car  and have to use ferry to go that Liberty Island.
Ticket have to book form online. It opens from 8:30 pm and closing time is 5:00 pm. It is one of the famous tourist spots like Taj Mahal and Sydney Opera House.

A man should visit the place once in his life time.
